What does ‘notarisation’ mean?

Notarisation was originally an American term, but is now commonly used in Australia and other countries.

When a client asks us to notarise a document, we are usually being asked to certify and sign the document, and then to apply our seal.  Sometimes, when clients use the term, they are asking us to attest to their signature or identity or certify copies of documents as true copies.

If you’ve been asked to arrange for a document to be notarised, we can help.
